Research Question
How do children of immigrant parents learn to express their emotions, and what factors influence this process?
Project Goals
     To investigate the processes through which children of immigrant parents develop their emotional expression.
     To examine the role of immigrant parents' emotional expression, cultural values, and communication styles in shaping their children's emotional development.
     To provide insights to help immigrant parents better support their children’s emotional development.

Research Method
     Semi-structured interviews with 10 children of immigrant parents, ages 18-25
     Inductive coding using NVivo 14
Key Findings
Emotional expression is influenced by parents’ demonstration of the following traits: 
     The strength of their personal bond with their child
     Their level of communication with their child
     Their responses to their child’s displays of emotions

This study concludes that all three characteristics play a role in teaching children to openly express their emotions as young adults.
